On March 16, 2023 took place the first sports law and arbitration congress in Lebanon, where our founding partner, Rosalia Ortega was invited as a speaker.
This event was organized by Middle East Sports Law and Sader Legal at the University of Notre Dame in Zouk Mosbeh and was attended by important members of the lebanese sports world such as Dr. Pierre Jalkh, President of the Lebanese Olympic Committee, as well as various university authorities including Father Bechara Khoury, President of the University of Notre Dame, and Dr. Danny Samaha, Dean of the Faculty of Law.
The Round Table
Rosalia shared a round table with leading international jurists and experts such as Jim Sturman (British, former representative of Chelsea FC and Tottenham) and Ralph Charbel (Beirut Bar Association, representative of players, clubs, agents and federations before FIFA and CAS/TAS).
These 3 experts shared their views on the methods of sports disputes resolutions in Spain, Great Britain, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. They also shared their opinions regarding the recent update to the FIFA agents’ regulations and the existence of laws regulating the sport.
